Why Monty’s Golf?

The reason for name “Monty” was through the heart breaking loss of a family dog. Many people will be able to relate to the loss of a family pet; it leaves a hole in your heart that will never be filled. To remember “Monty” we named my company after him, this then allowing his spirit to be with us at every moment. Hence the name Monty’s Golf.

Many years ago I was fortunate to be caddie master at one of the best golf course in Scotland, through this I would meet many Close friends from around Europe and the USA. I often would invite them across the waters as my guests to play a few rounds of golf and enjoy the social side of Scottish hospitality. One group of friends (Ben, Paul, Peter & Doug) then suggested to me that with a small fee, for my services and with organization and dedication I could start up a thriving business. With some thought I realized that I would enjoy doing tours as my future business. Throughout the eleven years of business we have managed to build up a great client base, from actors to Presidents. After meeting Mark Haugejorde in November 1996, the director of Nicklaus Corp. Monty’s Golfing Tours were asked to prepare Tailor Made Tours exclusively for the Jack Nicklaus International Golf Club Members to Scotland, England and Ireland. We also have been for seven of the eleven years the European Jack Nicklaus International Golf Club – Concierge, arranging golf and travel arrangements, through our free phone line for the European members from, Paris, Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, London and Ireland.

Through meeting a various amount of interesting people, I have been fortunate enough to receive invitations to look after some large company events. Also, Photo shoots for publications and television commercials, Ashworth Clothing Co. with Ernie Els, Fred Couples, Michael Campbell and John Cook ) Nike Corp. (Weiden & Kennedy), Nortel Telecommunications, GTE, Valspar and Rexam for conferences. Our staff will deal with 7 to 7000 guests who wish a conference break, involving a superb golfing programme to Scotland, Ireland, & Spain are the most popular, as well as all major golf tournaments.
